Anyone besides me zero the rifle at 200 yards (or 100) and then regulate the elevation drum to that range? Then just use the elevation settings instead of "counting clicks"? It works for me with M1s...

Larry, Yes, many people will set the dial to their ammo and zero... BUT, no serious M1 shooter worth the gas from a can of pintos will rely on the knob to not come loose at the most inappropriate...

Swampy is CORRECT! It is always a sure thing counting clicks from bottom. Let it happen (loose screw) to you once and you will become a believer.

Just run your sight all the way down then come up 13 or 14 clicks and you should be close enough at 200 yards to dial in within your 5 sighters if you are shooting a JCG match..M14man,  I can send you...
